John Derian + Target

I have long admired the work of John Derian, but could never justify the price or choose just one piece. Imagine my surprise when I read that he designed a line for Target ($25 and under) and it debuts September 5th. So exciting! First Liberty of London for Target, now this...Target gets 5 stars in my book. Looking forward to September 5th...

Just one more...

Just one more...I promise. The others were designer Ralph Lauren Blue Label and mucho dinero, so I found something totally cute and afforable. LL Bean $39.50 and paired with a pair of skinny jeans and riding boots would be so cute.

FLOR

I found FLOR in a design magazine a while ago and then recently found them in a little store in our village. I think they are so cool. Each rug is made of carpet tiles assmbled together. They are green, completely washable, and have neat names like Toy Poodle, House Pet, Shaggy Sheep, Stampede, and many more. They appeal to me becasue this concept makes perfect sense for a playroom or other high traffic areas of a house. I love the idea that I can remove a tile to wash it, or completely replace it. The cost is anywhere form $8 to $25 per tile. I am thinking about the Toy Poodle in Fluffy Fuschia and Go Fetch Green for our playroom, but it is so hard to decide. I love the soft Botanical Bue for our bedroom. Right now I have samples from the store strewn about our house. BP and BB have been playing with them all afternoon. I picked a few of my favorites to show above, but check out http://www.flor.com/ if this concept appeals to you also. (They also have a well organized catalog you can order.)

For the Green Shopper

One of these collapsible shopping baskets would make a great gift for just about anyone on your Christmas list. I found this picture at Garnet Hill, but I have seen these baskets at Marshall's and TJ Max also.

Sparkle Chucks

I love the holiday cheer these Converse sneakers from Chasing Fireflies would bring to the season... Just wondering if they come in pink sparkles? BP would freak for them!

BOGS

We found these boots a couple months ago when Winter surprised us in October and we realized we were not prepared for the weather. At BP's school they play outside at least twice a day regardless of the weather. So when it is a school day, BP leaves with her snow pants, ski jacket, hat, mittens, and her BOGS. I love these boots for five reasons...
1. She can put them on all by herself. (check out the handles.)
2. They are warm up to -30 degress. No cold piggies with these babies!
3. They matched her snow pants and jacket.
4. They are super stylish.
5. They have great traction.

We purchased BP's BOGS from Garnet Hill for $49, but I later noticed that Cabella's kids had them also.

Fit Flops

Trying to decide if I should add these to my shoe collection... and wondering if they really work. Can a pair of flip flops really tone my legs and buttocks and combat cellulite? I am not completely convinced, but I have seen a lot of people wearing them this summer. Do they know something I do not?

Perfectly Pink...

I think our garden is going to need one of these, a Cynthia Rowley designed pink garden hose. It can be found at Target for only $10. I think it is perfect!

Too Cute...

I absolutely LOVE these little bloomers from Chasing Fireflies. I think The Barefoot Baby would look so cute in these this summer!

Out To Tea...

I found this great website for hair clips and bows called http://www.out-to-tea.com/ and since The Barefoot Princess has some hair now, I am so excited to buy some of their products. I have waited two and a half years for hair that would actually hold a clip and now BP not only has hair, but the most beautiful curls to decorate with "hair pretties" as her good friend calls them. Above are a few that I thought were pretty cute, but there are lots more on the site.
My personal favorite is the sweet pea one of course!

IKEA

Saturday morning we bravely headed to IKEA with both The Barefoot Princess and The Barefoot Baby. We knew what we needed and had a plan. So we crossed our fingers and said a little prayer that everything would go smoothly. IKEA can be a little overwhelming with crowds of people, lines, waiting for pick up, and so much to look at. BP rode on the push cart while BB was in the stroller. It was a successful mission and we now have a new white pedestal table with four white French country chairs in our kitchen. We have waited about 7 years to replace the set I garbage picked for our first apartment. I owe BP and BB's Daddy big time because it took five hours to put the set together, but as the IKEA catalog boldly states on the front... Home is the Most Important Place in the World!

March Madras

Madras, a style I have always loved, is a trend this Spring! I bought this madras bag at J. Crew this past weekend and I intend to use it as a diaper bag as soon as the weather gets a little nicer. Fingers crossed that it will be very soon! Love the shorts too!

Easter Dresses

I love shopping for special holdiay dresses for BP and BB. I saw these dresses in Target, yes Target one Saturday and I thought, "how cute and simple and Laura Ashely like." I left without them and looked on the computer that evening for Easter dresses. I checked the old favorites... Gymboree. Janie and Jack, The Gap, The Wooden Soldier, The Children's Place (when did black become an Easter color?) and Chasing Fireflies. I did not find anything that I was in love with. I kept thinking about the dresses I saw in Target. Three days later I found myself back in Target and the dresses were still there. I could not resist.

A little something...

A little something to make the snow that is currently falling outside a little more fun.
They would also be great for the mud that will soon be here.

"Wishes"...

Also from Chasing Fireflies... I could not resist the fish dress and matching purse. The Barefoot Princess has a hard time saying the 'f' in fish so she calls them "wishes." She pretends to fish with her little pole Papa gave her for Christmas and watches fishing with her Daddy on Sunday mornings. They are big fans of the 'Spanish Fly'. She stands with her little Barbie pole while the fishing shows are on and pretends to catch "wishes, big wishes"!!! I know that BP has a little friend and neighbor, Munchkinetta, whose Daddy is also REALLY into fishing and might like this ensemble for his little girl too!!

Farm Chic...

I am loving all of this adorable farm stuff from one of my favorite places... chasing-fireflies.com
I was just telling a friend at our playdate today that I would love to find a wooden barn for BP and BB. This one from Chasing Fireflies is so cute and they also have wooden animals to go with it. A little pricey, but well worth it for the wood and timeless look of the toy. I also love all these farm tees, particularly the farm animal numbers tees. And the very first picture of the little white sundress with the chicks is so cute I would order it in two sizes, one for The Barefoot Princess and one for The Barefoot Baby.

Barefoot Mom Favorite

I am loving this necklace that I found on chasing-fireflies.com!!! It is totally me and I love the idea of putting the names of my soon to be two little girls on a necklace. Chasing Fireflies has all different options for this necklace. You can get pearl droplets on gold or silver or no pearls at all. Very cute and fun!!!
