Aaahhh...Simplicity

I don't know if you can tell from the pictures, but the most amazing thing happened on Sunday while I was in the shower. Daddy and BP and BB cleaned the playroom! I wish I had before and after pictures. They not only cleaned it, but really simplified it. Let me back up for a minute. I have been trying to cut back on the playroom clutter and toys the girls do not play with for months. Everytime I walked into the room I would get disgusted and frustrated and turn around and walk out.
We figure we send BP (and next year BB) to a Montessori school where everything is streamlined, simple, and organized and NOT overstimulating and then were NOT following through at home. It just did not make sense. Daddy to the resuce...I said to him in amazement, "How did you do it?" He replied, "It was easy, I had them help and all I had to do is get them to buy into the idea." Ok, easy peasy, right? Why didn't I ever think of that? So the girls weeded out what they really love and play with often. They each moved their baby beds to their rooms and they made a basket of "baby toys" for baby G. With so much more space in the playroom they decided to move the dollhouse downstairs where they could play with it more. And get this...they were so excited and proud of what they did. Everytime I walk by the room or play in there with them I breathe a sigh of relief. So I owe a big THANK YOU to Daddy who really knows how to motivate his two little ladies.

BP Skates...

BP has been talking about ice skating for awhile, and this past weekend was the annual Ice Carnival in a town nearby...so it was the perfect opportunity. When we arrived she was quiet and took it all in, studying the other skaters and children. She decided she was going to skate and also compete in the "5 and under" race. She practiced a little and then raced the one race lap with 5 other 5 and unders, and won 2nd place! What a great day for BP! She was so happy when they put the medal around her neck. Her big cousin James won 2nd place in his race also. Then we found out the ice skating rink is open everyday afterschool and weekends also. We will definitely be back for more skating fun! Next up for BP...ice fishing. She has been talking about and asking to do this also.

BB Skates...

Not wanting to be left behind, BB insisted she really wanted to try skating like her big sis. Lucky for her, Aunt Cynthia has such a soft spot for both of our girls, so she took her to see if the skate house had skates in her size. And they did! She was thrilled!

Frosty

Here is BP posing with Frosty...she made him with the nieghbors and our snowman kit from The Luther's (thanks guys).
One week later and Frosty still stands, minus his black hat, which Daddy chased down in a windstorm. It has been really, really cold here for way too long. I would welcome temps above 20...don't want our little Baby G being born into such a frigid world.

Two Wishes...

I have just two wishes...
1...that it was warm enough to wear either pair of these...and...
2...that I could see my feet so I could wear either pair of these!

Toasty Warm...

It has been pretty cold here recently. We have been doing a lot of sledding, drinking hot cocoa, toasting ourselves by the fire etc... oh and nesting...a lot of nesting on my part, and the girls and Daddy have been helping to. The girls love folding clothes, especially the baby's clothes. I think I have washed everything I can get my hands on in our house. Next up is organizing...and packing my bag for the hospital. I have a feeling Baby G could come soon. My goal is to make it to 36 weeks like I did with BB. That is next week. Stay tuned and if we disappear for a few days or a week I promise to post lots of pics when we return.

Belonging...

BP and BB call me "big momma" and I feel it lately. So when I see these two lovely and curvy ladies who both live just down the road I feel like I belong. I feel like we have sooo... much in common right now.
