I am trying to play catch up because the last week has been crazy for the Barefoot Family. Here are some pictures from The Barefoot Princess' birthday party last Saturday. The weather was beautiful and BP shared her day with her family and loved every second of it. I am happy to report that the cow cake was a success! BP's Daddy and I worked on it until about midnight the night before. She was so excited to see the "moo" as she calls it the next morning!!! I also have to mention the first picture of BP's hay fort, which she absolutley loves and plays in every day. Daddy made it for the party and we have all spent a lot of time in it over the last week. I think he is planning to make a bigger one next year. Can you make a castle out of hay? Seems fitting for The Barefoot Princess, doesn't it? Anyway, we were even contemplating camping in the hay fort one night since the weather has been so unseasonably warm...
Apology for the lack of pictures, I was not able to take a lot of pictures because I was a little busy doing the party thing. Mental note: ask someone to take the pictures next year...

Wow, AMAZING cake!! I don't know how you did it. And the hay fort! We thought about building one for Buby, too, after playing in the hay maze at the farm store in PB. We've been too busy, so maybe Buby can just play in yours this year. I'm still waiting for your banana cream pie recipe and your monkey bread recipe. Tom keeps asking me for both!! You're such a good cook. Oh, and Buby wants the pink applesauce recipe, too, when you have time. Ha!
What a wonderful party! I love the cake and the hay fort. BP looks like she was loving every minute of it.
The party was lot of fun. I would have taken pictures for you - you should have asked. I actually forgot my camera or I would have taken some myself. It is wonderful to watch BP change from year to year - bittersweet.
The cake is beautiful! That hay maze is adorable! I love it. Without sounding too pushy, I'd love to see it in person. Hint, hint...(hee, hee). The party looks like it was a major success. You're absolutely right about the photos. I never realized how important it is to have someone else take them for you when hosting.
